D-Link routers rarely require a default password. They use the default IP address of192.168.0.1. However, there are exceptions. For more information, see the table below.
After logging in with your default password, it’s important to change the Wi-Fi router’s username.

[1] D-Link DI-634M router comes with two default access accounts. An administrator-level account (username admin), which is used for router management, and an user-level account(username user), which is used to view data but make no changes.
[2] DLink DI-701 routers come with an administrator-level default account (no username nor password required), and a Super Admin account for ISPs (no username and password of year2000) which grants you the additional ability set a user limit using the usrlimitcommand, accessible in the router’s terminal.
[3] The DSA-3100/DS-5100 routers have default administrator accounts (admin / administrator) and default manager accounts (manager / manger), which can be used to add and manage additional user access accounts.
The D-Link Default Password and Username Doesn’t Work
There are no secrets back doors to D-Link routers or other network devices. This means that even if your default admin password is changed, and you don’t know it, you will be locked out.
You can reset your D-Link device back to factory settings. This resets the password and wipes out all other settings.
The Best Ways to Reset Your Home Network Router
Turn on your D-Link device and press the Reset button (usually located on the back). After holding the button for 10 seconds, use a small pen or paperclip to release the button. Allow the router to boot for a few minutes.

Change the D-Link admin password to something more secure and difficult to guess. To avoid having to reset it again in the future, save the new password in a Password Manager.
Why the D-Link default IP address won’t work
If your D-Link router is powered on and connected to your network, but the default IP address listed above doesn’t work, open a web browser and connect to http://dlinkrouter.local.
If that doesn’t work, connect to http://dlinkrouterWXYZ, with WXYZ being the last four characters of the MAC address for the device. D-Link devices come with a sticker that lists their MAC addresses. So, for example, if the MAC address of your D-Link router is 13-C8-34-35-BA-30, go to http://dlinkrouterBA30 to access the router.
If this doesn’t work and your D-Link router has been connected to a computer with an IP address, the default gateway configured is the router’s access IP address. Find the default gateway IP address and then go to your computer’s network settings.
